FAMILY-OWNED & OPERATED SINCE 1985

We are proud to say we are truly a family-owned & operated resort of three generations. Marv & Louise Ericksen, and their son Bob, moved to Lake of the Woods from Chicago after purchasing Ken-Mar-Ke in 1985. The resort was once seasonal, only open in the summer & fall months for fishing & recreation until joining the ice fishing business in 1990. From there on, the resort has grown into what it is today. Ownership of the resort transferred to Bob & Wanda Ericksen in 2006. Fast forward to 2025, their daughter Kendall and son-in-law Jake joined them to continue many more years of bringing tradition & experience of Ken-Mar-Ke.

Ken-Mar-Ke offers a comfortable stay with great service. We had an excellent time fishing and enjoyed great food and new friends!

WORLD CLASS WALLEYE FISHING ON LAKE OF THE WOODS

Ken-Mar-Ke Resort is located on Bostic Creek on the southern shore of Lake of the Woods. Less than a two mile trip up Bostic, we are close to the mouth of Four Mile Bay and the Rainy River. Some of the best walleye and northern pike fishing areas on the lake are within two miles of our resort.

Early Summer jigging is great when fishing in and around Pine Island in Four Mile Bay when the walleyes are close to shore. The Bostic Bay area is one of the best to fish for those Spring and Summer trophy walleye and pike. As the fish move into deeper water in the later summer months, fishing transitions to pulling spinners, crank baits and jigging. The Fall Walleye Brawl starts as the weather patterns change to cooler temperatures and fish move back to shallow depths out in front of Pine Island as shiners start running toward the Rainy River. As we move into the winter months and the lake freezes, early December is some of the best time to ice fish on Lake of the Woods — You don’t have to travel far to catch quality limits or slot walleye. As the winter season continues, fish move into different depths depending on pressure and temperature.

Whether you bring your own boat or choose guided fishing with us for your vacation, remember Lake of the Woods on the Minnesota side is the place to come for world class walleye fishing.
